Savill Hall

The Savill Hall 1926
Cattistock's 2020 Christmas Tree

Our village treasure, the Savill Hall, is going to get a great spring clean for when it re-opens in May. Meanwhile beautification was in progress recently, with some of the fantastic photos of ye olde Cattistock, courtesy of John Willows, enlarged, enhanced and re-framed, being hung by committee members Wayne and Peter with power tools and Merrily as an arty eye.

There will be an unveiling celebration and gathering when such things are on stream again, so dozens of folk in this village can see what their house looked like in 1890!! And maybe even their ancestors….

PLEASE NOTE THAT SINCE DORSET IS IN TIER 2 THE HALL WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

ENQUIRIES ABOUT AVAILABILITY FOR 2021 SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE TREASURER SHOWN BELOW.

The Savill Memorial Hall is situated in the centre of the village opposite the Fox & Hounds pub.

It is used weekly for sports activities like badminton, short-mat bowls, and table tennis. It is also used monthly by the W.I and bi-monthly by the Parish Council. Other uses are for wedding receptions and wakes, as well as children’s parties, talks, films and presentations (a large screen is available). The hall is the centre of activities for the annual fete week.

The hall is appointed with a commercial kitchen (including dishwasher), and a main hall with stage and PA system.
