The Cassandra String Quartet

 23 April 2022, 7.30 pm

Cattistock Parish Church

 Classical concerts return to Cattistock!

The inaugural “Cattistock in Concert” will take place in our beautiful Parish Church on Saturday 23 April 2022.  This is a very exciting new project to bring back classical music to the village and it is planned to hold many more interesting events in the future.

The first one promises to be outstanding and will be performed by The Cassandra String Quartet, all local professional players:

Gillian Wallace – 1st violin

Polly Orr-Ewing – 2nd violin

Deborah Johns – Viola

Kathryn Foyle – ‘Cello

Their programme will consist of some well-loved classical pieces:

Haydn Quartet Op 76 No 1 in G Major

Britten: The Simple Symphony

Mozart Quartet in E flat major K428

as well as a light-hearted piece, with a possible reference to St George’s Day.

There is no charge for this concert but suggested donations of £10 per person will be most welcome towards future concerts in this series.  Drinks will be served during the interval.

This concert is going to be popular, so be sure to put the date in your diary now and expect an evening of favourite composers and beautiful music in the tranquil setting of Cattistock Church.

We look forward to seeing you there.
