On 17th August, during a beautiful summer’s day, the village came alive with people setting up various stalls outside their homes, in their front gardens, in the playground and outside the village hall. After a few weeks of advertising and planning, 38 individuals registered to participate and spent the subsequent weeks sorting and clearing through a whole array of items to sell. Every possible category was represented from sports items, clothing, books, cd’s, cushions, bedding, furniture, equestrian, gardening through to musical instruments. Running a stall myself meant I was only able to visit the ones nearest me to see how things were going but my family spies who seemed to visit most sellers reported back that there was a lovely atmosphere, with plenty of interested buyers and smiling sellers.
£190 through the registration fee was raised and divided between the village coffee morning and the fete funds.
A huge thank you to Wayne who offered practical support in terms of poster design and parking allocation and also to Nigel who kindly printed the maps as a favour to the village.
