Cattistock WI – Inspiring Women in Cattistock for 100 years!

Our WI is very fortunate in having a steady membership of people from Cattistock and the surrounding villages, who enjoy meeting once a month in The Savill Hall. We have a planned programme of talks, craft activities and social evenings – there really is something for everyone. We also take part in the national WI campaigns on issues that matter to us and our communities.

At present all our meetings are taking place using Zoom and the first one this year is an “in house” meeting where members will bring along a little object of sentimental value or interest – a piece of china, ornament, jewellery, book, piece of poetry, etc. – something that holds a special meaning to them or their family. They will be asked to share their thoughts with our other members.

In February we have a “Creative Clay” session, which will be a demonstration by the speaker with Q & A afterwards, and in March we have a talk entitled “Working with the Ghosts of Hampton Court” by a State Apartment Warder.

OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED

Our Events Organiser will be stepping down from her post in April. We are therefore looking to recruit a person with great organisational skills, persistence and drive to take over. We have a list of speakers already (contact details and skill sets), but if we hear of other people that may be interested to give our members a talk or demonstration, we are always open to suggestions.

The post involves booking and arranging for guest speakers to be available to fit into our meeting calendar. The post is not a solo position and will be a shared post. Any interested members, or anyone with these skills who would like to join our WI, please contact us at the email address below

The WI offers you the opportunity to learn new skills, meet people, form new friendships and become part of the local community.
