Village Tearoom Cattistock

An innocent coffee and a teacake for breakfast in ‘Butterflies Tea Room’ lead to a conversation about taking over the tearoom.

Once that seed was planted it started to grow very quickly and the following day, I made the decision to take over the tearoom.

Valerie has decided to move on so for me it is a good opportunity. I suppose I always wanted my own shop, not too big but a place that I can run on my own. The plan was that I was going to start early April but, Covid 19 put a stop to that. However, we (my husband Colin and I) had lots of time to get the ‘Village Tearoom Cattistock’ ready and as from June 1st the Tearoom will start trading again.

Until I can open officially, I will be serving take aways: baguettes, sausage rolls, cakes, biscuits, croissants and pain au chocolate. Daily special meals and healthy soups will also be on the menu. And of course, tea’s and coffees. (some of those will be available in the Village shop). When we fully open than there will be a bigger menu including all day breakfast and high teas.

So far, I have had some lovely reactions from the locals about reopening the tearoom and I am looking forward to serving my new customers. The tearoom has had a bit of a makeover and I have been lucky enough to have been donated a lovely kitchen from a Cattistock resident.

I will also be selling some nick knacks and possibly a selection of local crafts too.

The tearoom garden terrace also had a make over and with a lovely view of the church, what better to enjoy the sunshine and a home-made fresh cream tea!

The opening times for Village Tearoom Cattistock will be from 9-5 every day.

Hope to see you soon
