Well, I have a friend, Liz Copas (an authority on cider apples) and she, along with Nick Poole (an expert cider maker), is researching different localities for a book on Dorset Cider Apples. A few years ago they propagated trees from two unidentifiable cider apple trees from Cattistock. Last year these trees produced sufficient fruit for them to make a single variety cider. They have registered them as local cultivars names “Cattistock Pink” (in respect of the hunt) and “Hunters Ground”. So, if you have anything that may be tucked away in the back of your mind, this may well help Liz and Nick to get yet more facts for their book. Could you let me know so that I can arrange a gathering for Liz and Nick to talk with you.
Email me, Nicola Butler or phone 01300 320848.

Many thanks, Nicola Butler
